Position Summary
As the Marketing & Communications Specialist you will report at the Executive level. enCompass believes in the power of storytelling to drive our success. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of a communications and marketing department from the ground up, driving meaningful change and impact for our agency and the community. Areas of responsibility will include: brand management, marketing strategy, content creation and management, partner relations and community engagement. As a self starter, you will take the initiative to bring creative marketing strategies to the table and execute those strategies that fit into the overall Agency Strategic plan.
Responsibilities
- Develop Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with key partners to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the organization's purpose, plan and values.
- Brand Management: Cultivate the organization's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communications channels and materials.
- Content Creation and Management: Oversee the creation and management of compelling content (written, visual, and multimedia) that effectively communicates the agency's purpose and impact.
- Digital Marketing: Execute digital marketing campaigns across various platforms (website, social media, email, etc.) to increase brand awareness, engagement, and support.
- Stakeholder Relations and Media Outreach: In collaboration with the Executive, cultivate relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other relevant partners to generate positive media coverage and increase visibility for the organization.
- Community Engagement: Implement strategies to engage with and mobilize the agency's community of supporters, volunteers, donors, and clients.
- Marketing Analytics and Performance Tracking: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize analytic tools to track, measure, and optimize the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Budget Management: In collaboration with the Director of Finance, develop and manage the department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications or related field required
- 5 years’ experience in marketing leadership roles, with a deep understanding of marketing principles and practices
- Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector or with a community agency is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences across various channels
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable marketing plans that align with the agency strategic plan.
- Ability to build rapport, represent the agency and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Experience managing budgets and resources effectively to achieve desired outcomes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to travel to various program sites within Edmonton
Conditions of Employment
- This position is located at Transition Place, 401, 10010 105 Street
- The hours of work are 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday
