POSITION SUMMARY:

Our Marketing and Communications department is looking for a dynamic and collaborative member to join their team!

The position is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with all divisions on digital content creation, designing and implementing web content, as well as maintaining website operations. Reporting on user demographics, setting up and maintaining user roles are also part of the responsibilities. In addition, the position assists the Supply Centre and Bookstore with photography, targeted social media campaigns and limited web support, as well as photograph campus events for social media or other appropriate platforms.

The successful candidate also performs all aspects of digital and social communications planning and execution. Provides writing, analytics for all forms of online media production and general messaging. They oversees and monitors quality and standards control of communications both electronic and in writing as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze existing communication platforms and client requests for creating new or updated content on CMCC website and ancillary platforms. Organize content into appropriate navigation schemes, with consideration of website navigation and basic architecture as well as user needs.
  • Collaborate with other divisions in the production of online projects user/client needs and best practices for digital content.
  • Create, update pages and troubleshoot within a customized Content Management platform.
  • Liaise with IT or vendor(s) as needed for technical support to deliver content to meet user needs.
  • Maintain quality control and currency of all electronic communication, including CMCC website and social media content.
  • Troubleshoot website issues concerning missing/broken links, errors, etc. Update index (home) page, manage opening of admissions applications, closures, etc. Respond to Webmaster email.
  • Conduct the duties of a website content administrator including the setting up of all users and site permissions and publishing workflows for content contributors.
  • Liaise with IT or vendor to respond to user requests for architectural changes, updates and testing. Minor coding as required.
  • Manage/control policies and permission groups.
  • Update events calendar and other routine site maintenance tasks.
  • Work with IT or vendor on site upgrades to coordinate and communicate changes to content contributors.
  • Monitor and measure website traffic through Google Analytics and CMCC’s content management analytics to track overall traffic by page, performance of content on specific pages, demographics, etc.
  • Generate reports to be integrated into annual division reporting.
  • Advise and assist content managers from other divisions in CMS procedures and brand guidelines.
  • Create content for the CMCC Supply Centre and Bookstore, including taking photographs for social media and posting images to the store website as needed. Support the store through social media campaigns.
  • Identify events and happenings of interest on campus and in outreach or research projects and deliver content, (e.g. photography).
  • Assist with promotion of CMCC events, special days and other notable events on social media for divisions and events.
  • Monitor social media platforms using social media analytics and monitoring channels with 3rd party monitoring tool such as Hootsuite. Communicate with users, encouraging loyalty, and fostering engagement with potential clients.
  • Generate reports and identify digital media trends, tactics and opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Academic

Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Communications, English and/or Digital Media preferred**.**

  • Skills & Knowledge

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a communications role in a professional environment that includes digital and social media.

  • Experience with visual and text editors, HTML, Web Standards and CMS.

  • Experience working with various social media platforms (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, etc.).

  • Experience working with paid digital services like Google AdWords, Google Tag Manager and Facebook Business Manager.

  • Knowledge of SEO, keyword search and Google Analytics.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, accurate and thorough and superior editing skills.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, particularly in soliciting and incorporating critique and feedback from multiple stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently or on a team, always showing respect for the diverse constituencies.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning emerging technologies.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications.

  • Ability to prioritize and lead production and projects from conception to execution on time and on budget.

  • Project management experience strongly recommended.

  • Willingness to update skills on a regular basis to keep abreast of rapidly changing technology

  • Familiarity with healthcare, particularly chiropractic, an asset
