A Day in the Life:
This position is responsible for performing sales and clerical duties related to order processing and merchandise display, including bookkeeping, general clerical, and customer service tasks. This role requires regular, direct interaction with customers to deliver high-quality grain services.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming calls and visitors, responding to routine inquiries.
- Monitor and update the delivery schedule daily, sending reports to appropriate individuals (FOM, CARS, AOM) on outstanding loads.
- Receive orders from operations staff and customers; complete order forms, process payments, and forward details to operations staff for shipment.
- Maintain office files, including records of facility transactions and staff documentation.
- Prepare, edit, and format various documents, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking by completing weekly stock reports and conducting spot checks.
- Compile and provide information on overall inventory statistics, including stock levels, sales, pricing, shipments, and outstanding accounts.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence; maintain and order office supplies.
- Receive shipments of supplies; verify quality and quantity, and place goods in designated storage areas.
- Perform necessary housekeeping duties.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of office clerical experience.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Understanding of grain pricing and customer options.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with the public.
- Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets, databases, communication tools, and word processing software.
