About the role

The Operations Controller oversees the financial side of the plant, focusing on raw material and yield analysis while helping the operations team manage labor and other operating expenses. The role, as a business partner to the manufacturing operational team, ensures the accuracy of financial information, helps to understand the financial results, optimize operations and assists with the successfully completion of transformation projects. How you will contribute to collective success: Determine periodically analyze raw material yields used in manufacturing and associated performance indicators; Support and participate in month-end closing activities (Journal entries, analysis of operational expenditures & month end KPI’s); Perform variance analysis and monthly presentations of financial results to the operational leadership team; Develop the plant manufacturing budget & monthly projection; Collaboratively perform plant costing (variable costs + fixed overheads); Assist the plant management team in developing and monitoring key performance indicators to assess functional performance and opportunities for additional cost reductions; Participate in cost control and build the future by providing financial analysis and recommendations; Develop data- and fact-based information to support decisions enabling productivity measures to reduce overall cost. The type of team player who fits in: Bachelor's degree in business administration (BBA), accounting or finance; Completed CPA designation, or relevant experience (3 to 5 years); Experience in a manufacturing environment (plant) an asset; Knowledge of SAP; Good knowledge of Excel, formulas and pivot tables (Power Query an asset).
