Job Description: Managing Director, Head of SLC Compensation Delivery – SLC Management What is in it for you: The Managing Director, SLC Compensation responsible for developing and managing compensation programs that support the business objectives of line of business compensation within SLC. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, SLC Management, you will lead a small but mighty team that partners with business and HR Leaders, and leverages data and analytics, to design, implement and manage compensation strategies and programs that produce measurable outcomes. Deliver a modern, compelling, and integrated compensation plans that drive performance and reward long-term value creation. In this key leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's compensation philosophy and programs to drive employee engagement, performance, and retention. What you will do: Leads and delivers SLC’s core compensation programs, including the annual compensation cycle, market benchmarking, salary and incentive design, compensation recommendations, and job evaluation, while ensuring robust governance and compliance with applicable legislation. Champions SLC’s compensation philosophy, partnering with HR and business leaders to design and deliver programs aligned with business strategy and talent priorities. Acts as a senior Total Rewards leader, contributing to SLC rewards strategy, promoting employee‑centric and integrated delivery across total rewards, and supporting capability‑building and talent development for the future. Builds strong, trusted relationships with HR Business Partners, business leaders, and cross‑functional teams; provides consultative partnership to understand strategic priorities and translates those insights into compensation solutions that support business objectives. Develops sophisticated financial and data models to support compensation decision‑making, including workforce planning, headcount growth, and staffing scenarios. Partners with HR and Communications teams to design and execute effective communication and change‑management strategies that enhance the employee experience and the perceived value of rewards programs, including market research, internal analysis, scenario modeling, impact assessment, and transition planning. Monitors external market, regulatory, and industry trends impacting compensation programs and proactively identifies strategies and responses to maintain competitiveness and compliance. Serves as a key member of M&A teams, leading HR due diligence assessments and supporting post‑transaction integration and implementation. What you need to succeed: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 10+ years of experience and a university education in Business, Human Resources or a related field. An MBA or MIR is an asset. Possesses a growth mindset with willingness to challenge the status quo, try new things, test & learn and empower others to do the same, innovates and finds new solutions that solve business problems or create business opportunities. Anchors decisions in facts, leverages data to generate new insights and opportunities, clearly defines and measures business outcomes to identify course corrections and measure success. Informs strategies and decisions through knowledge of current external research and trends. Brings deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing compensation strategies and programs. Experience with asset management compensation and M&A due diligence and\or integration work is a significant asset. Broader experience in total rewards is beneficial, though not required. Focuses on developing people through coaching, continuous feedback, career development, and performance management. Builds the team and pipeline for future success. Strong leadership skills, able to adapt to changing priorities and engage and develop a team to deliver on key objectives. Action-oriented, focused on execution, improving our employees’ experience through continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Highly collaborative team-player, experienced in managing complexity and interacting with colleagues within the HR function, outside vendors, and brokers/consultants.
