Job Description & Requirements
Literacy 0.250-FTE
We are seeking a qualified teacher who must possess:
- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
- A minimum of three years elementary teaching experience and/or previous experience as a Literacy Support Teacher.
- Specialized literacy qualifications.
- Commitment to participate in ongoing professional development.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team in delivering a quality program.
Preference will be given to candidates who qualify in one or more of the following:
- Resource certification.
- Reading Recovery training.
- Appropriate university level education courses.
English as an Additional Language 0.250-FTE
We are seeking a qualified teacher who must possess:
- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
- A major/minor in second language acquisition at the undergraduate level OR certification in English as an Additional Language.
- A strong academic background.
- Previous successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
- Demonstrated knowledge of second language methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to teach learners who have English as an Additional Language at the elementary years level.
- Demonstrated ability in the differentiation of instruction and evaluation to meet the needs of all learners.
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching literacy through the curriculum.
- The skills and ability to integrate technology across the curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team in delivery a quality program.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
- Experience in the philosophy of a multi-age classroom as it relates to curriculum planning and implementation, instructional diversity, and classroom learning environment.
