WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The role of the Echo Technician is to provide echocardiograms and related duties to clients with compromised cardio-respiratory status and related conditions.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Successful completion of a Canadian accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography/Echocardiography program
- Current registration and be a member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of ECG Interpretation
- Ability to operate/maintain equipment used for echocardiograms
- Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative
- Ability to exercise good judgement and application of practical and theoretical knowledge
- Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office, Power Chart, MUSE, etc.
- Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position
- Ability to regularly attend work in accordance with the Attendance Support Program
- Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values and Code of Conduct
WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:
- Relevant recent related experience within the past (2) years
HOURS:
The successful candidate must be available to work on all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non-availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
