Human Resources Summer Student
Temporary Full-Time
Join us as a Human Resources Summer Student and help to Create Care Inspired by Community in East Toronto! As an HR Summer Student you will be responsible for providing administrative support tothe HR Systems and Administration team as MGH prepares to implement Workday. This role includes supporting HR administrative tasks, conducting analysis to support HR projects, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role provides the opportunity to learn to use human resources information systems and to learn to apply legislation, collective agreements, and HR policies.
This position is offered through the support of Government of Canada-Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of that program.
EDUCATION

High school diploma, required

Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program required, with a focus in Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong demonstration of tact and diplomacy with a customer service focus
- Able to maintain confidentiality with respect to all aspects of the work being performed
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize workload
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- High level of proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (including advanced analysis of large amounts of data)
- Demonstrated accuracy, focus, and attention to detail
- Experience with information gathering and the ability to synthesize and summarize information
- Ability to prepare written reports and documents that are clear and concise
- Comfortable working within a team as a leader and/or team member and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) [formerly Toronto EastGeneral Hospital (TEGH)] agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
- All employees of MGH are responsible to contribute to a transparent culture of patient and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patientand staff safety policies and procedures set by MGH.
