Manager of Social Services
Wage: $85,000 - $95,000 Annual Salary
*Benefits: *Paid sick leave, 3 weeks vacation, comprehensive benefits, and 5.5% employer pension match
*Hours: *Full-Time, 1 week in (Fort Ware community) ? 1 week out (PG Office)
(Flexibility required to accommodate member needs, and may include evenings and weekends)
Location: Kwadacha Community (Fort Ware), or willingness to travel to community every other week

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Health and Social Services, the Manager will lead program development, supervise staff, and support the delivery of high-quality services that promote safety, wellness, and self-determination. The Manager of Social Services provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of social service programs that support individuals, families, Elders, and youth in the community. This role ensures services are culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, and aligned with community values and applicable legislation.
- Provide strategic oversight for culturally appropriate support services and referral pathways for individuals and families
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the social services team to ensure effective service delivery
- Serve as the primary organizational liaison and advocate with MCFD, RCMP, the court system, and community partners to support families? needs
- Ensure all programs, services, and practices comply with relevant legislation, MCFD requirements, and child and family service standards
- Oversee integrated case management coordination and inter-agency collaboration to ensure effective and timely supports
- Lead initiatives that strengthen family capacity, skills, and long-term stability while prioritizing safety
- Ensure assessments and integrated case management processes are completed thoroughly, consistently, and in accordance with established standards
- Oversee the coordination of interventions and support resources based on identified family needs.
- Establish and enforce documentation standards to ensure accurate, confidential, and timely records of all interactions with clients and partner agencies
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs in alignment with legislation, funding requirements, and community priorities
- Work closely with the Elders Program to integrate Kwadacha culture, traditions, and teachings into program planning and service delivery.
- Plan and oversee training sessions, workshops, and support initiatives on relevant community and family-focused topics
- Provide regular reporting and strategic advice to Director of Health and Social Services regarding service delivery trends and families identified as at risk
- Develop and implement new processes or procedures that will help improve efficiency, reduce costs, or otherwise streamline the flow of support to the Nation
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Social Work required; and Master?s degree preferred
- Registration with the BC College of Social Workers (or eligible) is an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in social services, including leadership or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience providing leadership across mental health, substance use, child and family services, and community wellness programming
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of cultural safety and trauma-informed care, and Indigenous a

Fort Ware is home to the Kwadacha Nation (KN) and is located approximately 570 km north of Prince George in British Columbia. The village lies at the confluence of the Fox, Kwadacha, and Finlay rivers in the Rocky Mountain Trench and has a population of approximately 270. Fort Ware is accessed by plane from Prince George or by logging road. It takes approximately 8-10 hours to drive from Fort Ware to Prince George depending upon weather and road conditions.
Alongside the resource management projects run by Kwadacha Natural Resources Limited Partnership, Kwadacha also operates an Outfitting company that provides ecotourism, hunting and fishing services in Kwadacha country.
Kwadacha operates the Kwadacha Natural Resources Limited Partnership to ensure the proper stewardship and care of all natural resources above and below ground while maintaining the environment and sustaining economic growth within the Kwadacha traditional territory.
