- Recruitment range: $65,860- $72,607 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
- Performance range: $85,633 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
Job Summary
Mandate:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commuter & Administrative Services, the Manager, Commuter Services, is responsible for managing the delivery of front office services, including sales of parking products, employee bus passes, citation resolution, lost and found, lockers, special event parking and motor pool. The MCS is responsible for the delivery and enforcement of the University’s Traffic and Parking Regulations though front office services including an advisory relationship with Parking Compliance Officers and Security Officers regarding parking enforcement.
Objectives:
- Responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the department
- Oversees employees in the delivery of services and processes that are often sensitive or emotional
- Provides staff with effective support for inquiries received from clients in person, email or over the phone
- Responsible for escalated issues and the citation appeal process
As needed, participates in an on-call capacity due to the 24/7/365 nature of the operation. This may include being reachable by telephone or in some instances, attending campus to resolve an issue.
Job Requirements
Post-secondary degree in a related field and 3 years’ experience or a combination of education and experience. This experience must include:
- Financial administration, including working knowledge of budget procedures, financial reconciliation
- Office administration, including development and implementation of procedures
- Supervision of staff
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Superior communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with all partners
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proven track record achieving project goals on time and producing deliverables of a high quality
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and with all levels of university personnel
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory skills and the ability to inspire a team
- Ability to interpret and apply Collective Agreement clauses applying to supervised staff
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and sound judgment
- Able to make decisions independently based on experience
- Work experience gained in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset
- Experience in parking operations or administration is considered an asset
- Must have the ability to maintain a Security Officer level security clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
