The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Portfolio Manager, Managed Solutions to join our Asset Management team.
Reporting to the Director, Managed Accounts, the Portfolio Manager is responsible for the portfolio management of Aviso’s discretionary fee-based solutions and administration support. This includes providing oversight on discretionary trades and operational processes and contributing to the overall investment strategy of managed solutions.

What your day looks like:
Portfolio Management & Client Service
- Co-manage internal investment mandates and models. You will be a contributing member of the Investment Strategy Group, helping formulate strategic and tactical asset allocations and apply tactical strategies to internally managed multi-asset solutions
- Partner with the Director, Managed Solutions to develop, launch, and manage Aviso’s proprietary investment solutions
- Act as a strategic bridge between portfolio management, technology, and advisor experience – supporting the continuous improvement of Aviso’s Managed Account platform through innovation, automation and data-driven insights
- Support financial advisors with their client meetings, through presentations and correspondence that provide market update, guidance, and growth opportunities for prospective and existing clients
- Participate in monthly/quarterly and ad-hoc Economic and market webcasts to advisors
- Create, review, and approve investment policy statements for clients
- Collaborate with other Portfolio Managers and team members on tactical investment strategies for the managed account platform, including technical & fundamental market analysis and client implementation strategies
- Review and analyze investment mandates and trading, providing recommendations and opportunities for improvements
- Engage directly with financial advisors to communicate platform strategy, performance updates, and portfolio positioning
- Gather field insights to guide future enhancements to managed account functionality and advisor experience
Portfolio Accounting
- Manage and administer separately managed (“SMA”) and unified managed (“UMA”) accounts on Portfolio Management System
- Implement model portfolios from third-party investment managers, liaising as required for strategic execution
- Coach and support junior members of the team on portfolio administration and management in the PM platform (currently Wealth360)
- Maintain expert knowledge on Aviso’s custodial (Dataphile) and Portfolio Management Systems and processes
Client and Compliance Reporting
- Manage quarterly client statement production and tax issues with tax department
- Provide oversight and quality control for managed account compliance reporting and attribution analysis, ensuring data integrity and regulatory consistency across platforms
- Manage ongoing Compliance and Finance reporting requirements
- Provide ad hoc reports to third-party subadvisors, Compliance and advisors as required
- Monitor client accounts against Investment Policy Statements and other compliance requirements
- Performance reporting of portfolios and client accounts
- Continuous enhancement of Aviso’s managed solutions and features to ensure solutions they remain competitive and top caliber
- Provide opportunities for enhancement of the broader product shelf of the Product Solutions department
- Provide oversight to managed solutions fee billing system for clients and advisors
- Collaborate cross-functionality with Trading, Operations, Compliance and Product Solutions teams to ensure efficient execution, reporting accuracy and product alignment
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Post-secondary degree in business or a related discipline
- CFA Charter holder
- Licensed CIRO Portfolio Manager (Discretionary)
- 5-7 years’ experience in the investments industry with at least 3 years of discretionary portfolio management experience
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, market research, portfolio theory and/or investment administration and sales
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Apply data analytics and automation tools (Python, Power BI) to enhance portfolio oversight, attribution and drift monitoring
- Identify opportunities to streamline and digitize operational workflows within Wealth360 and Dataphile
- Advanced level MS Office Suite (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Bloomberg/Refinitiv (Eikon)
- Experience withWealth 360 & Dataphile is ideal
- Programming (Python, JAVA) knowledge is considered a highly desirable asset
- Experience supporting discretionary managed account programs or model portfolios
- Experience working with third party sub-advisors and model delivery platforms
- Excellent problem-solving skills with proven track record of managing activities and exceeding targets
- Self-motivated and able to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $115,000 - $135,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
