This position reports to the Senior Director, Terminals & Capital.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for Safe and reliable operations of multiple North American Distribution terminals receiving, storing and shipping activities for products including, but not limited to, Anhydrous Ammonia, Dry and Liquid fertilizer.
  • Required to gain and maintain an in depth understanding of terminal operations and process equipment.
  • Provide supervision of Terminal Supervisors including daily communications, problem solving, and operations. Conduct performance reviews, salary administration, succession planning and hiring activities.
  • Provide leadership to the terminal employees in the areas of morale, skill development, continuous improvement, responsibility, accountability, and opportunities.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met at the terminals including stewarding to all Nutrien safety and process safety standards.
  • Ensure the cost-effective operation and maintenance of the terminals.
  • Accountable for Developing and stewarding to expense budgets and monitoring results to ensure effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with numerous internal stakeholders to ensure effective and timely supply and customer service, including scheduling of terminal maintenance outages.
  • Develop short and longer-term objectives and key performance indicators that support Nutrien’s and Transportation, Distribution and Logistic key priorities and objectives.
  • Responsible for continuously implementing improvements in equipment, processes, procedures, and safety that have a positive impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of the terminals.
  • Develop and coordinate the specific terminal capital project needs, CYP, and 5-year plan with the Capital Projects team.
  • Review and approve project designs as part of the management of change process (including participating in project design review meetings).
  • Provide support to engineers, operations, and maintenance staff to ensure PSM/RMP process equipment is designed, maintained, changed, operated, and decommissioned in a responsible manner that complies with industry recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEPs).
  • Complete special projects as needed and any other tasks assigned to support personnel safety, business continuity and growth.
  • Is a member of the Terminal Leadership Team to effect leadership and consistent operations across the terminals network.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent operations background and experience.
  • An in-depth knowledge in operations and maintenance, including dry fertilizer storage and bulk handling equipment and anhydrous ammonia distribution including refrigeration and process controls.
  • 10+ years in an industrial environment is required with at least 5 years of supervisory responsibility.
  • Experience with robust safety, process safety management, and risk management plan programs preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work in a Safety First, drug free work environment - required to pass the Drug & Alcohol Testing.
  • Respect for individual diversity and eagerness to collaborate, assist, and approach challenges with a determined attitude to succeed together.
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills that can be applied to equipment systems and program development/improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to handle interpersonal communications is required.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team context with excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Travel Requirement – 40% – 60%.
