Why This Role Exists: Our engineering team is talented, tight-knit, and knows our product deeply. Most of them have grown up inside ParagonERP, which is a strength. But we're building something new: a composable ERP platform serving customers across Canada and the Netherlands, and we need someone who brings the outside technical world in.

Not someone who tells us what we're doing wrong. Someone who is genuinely curious about what's possible, shares what they're learning, and helps the team evolve naturally toward it.

What You'll Actually Do: **Build and ship:**You'll work on meaningful, complex software that sits at the heart of our customers' operations. Clean code, good architecture, real accountability.

**Bring the outside in:**You stay current with how the technical landscape is evolving — AI integration, modern architecture patterns, developer tooling — and you find natural ways to share that with the team. Not through lectures. Through curiosity and collaboration.

**Help us grow:**Our team is strong but relatively homogeneous in experience. Your broader exposure to how other companies and teams solve hard problems is genuinely valuable here. We want you to use it.

**Work across the stack:**Backend-heavy, but you're comfortable moving across layers when needed. You understand systems, not just code.

What You Bring: Technical foundation

• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong backend JavaScript and TypeScript
• PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• React and Node.js
• Docker, Kubernetes, Ubuntu
• Cloud experience (GCP preferred, Azure or AWS also fine)

Outside-in curiosity

• You follow where technology is going, not just where it's been
• Practical experience or genuine experimentation with AI/ML integration
• Built an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is a strong differentiator, whether professionally or privately. If you haven't yet but know what it is and where it's going, tell us.
• You've formed opinions about architecture (hexagonal, domain-driven design, API design, etc.) and you can defend them without being dogmatic

How you work

• Comfortable in Agile and Scrum environments
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• You communicate clearly; you can make a complex idea accessible without dumbing it down
• You influence through insight, not authority
