About this Opportunity
The Field Integrity Technologist is a member of the Integrity Management Team, whose mission is to promote an integrity-focused culture where physical assets are designed, operated, and maintained safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Manager, Integrity Engineering, this position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and third-party vendors to support the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) and Pipeline Integrity Management (PIM) programs. Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, supporting shutdowns and integrity-related maintenance activities, assisting with repairs and replacements, and ensuring ongoing compliance and reliability of field assets. This position is based in Rocky Mountain House, AB area.
Job Functions Will Involve:
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM), Storage Tank Integrity (STIP) and Pipeline Integrity Management (PIM) programs
- Coordinate integrity-related inspections, repairs, maintenance, and monitoring activities for pressure equipment and pipeline systems
- Work with Operations teams to plan and support facility shutdowns, turnarounds, and integrity inspection activities
- Assist with the installation, repair, replacement, and commissioning of pressure equipment, piping, and pipeline assets
- Coordinate and support in-line inspections (ILI), right-of-way inspections, depth-of-cover surveys, and corrective action programs
- Prepare and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs), integrity documentation, and work scopes for field activities
- Support the development, tracking, and reporting of integrity KPIs and compliance metrics
- Review inspection findings, identify deficiencies or non-conformances, and assist with mitigation and corrective action plans
- Participate in integrity reviews, conduct internal and vendor audits, investigations, and regulatory compliance activities
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, inspectors, and third-party vendors to ensure integrity activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards
- Develop annual integrity plans for assets
- Provide technical guidance and integrity program awareness to field operations personnel
- Support annual integrity budgeting and forecasting activities
- Maintain accurate integrity and asset records and support data quality initiatives
- Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and field quality assurance activities
- Support capital and Management of Change (MOC) projects through inspection, testing, and quality control activities
- Participate in emergency response, incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives as required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of oil and gas or related industry experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; related technical education is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of pressure equipment, piping, corrosion, and pipeline integrity principles
- Working knowledge of applicable ASME, ABSA, CSA, and industry integrity management standards
- Experience coordinating inspections, maintenance, or integrity-related field activities
- Familiarity with facility turnarounds, pipeline inspections, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Understanding of planning, budgeting, maintenance, and work management processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to interpret technical documents, inspection reports, and engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions in the field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
- Self-motivated, action-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong commitment to safety, operational reliability, and continuous improvement
- Willingness and ability to travel and work in field environments as required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site access requirements
