The Valuations team at SB Partners LLP is expanding. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and service-oriented Valuations Associate to join our team.

Purpose of the position::
As a Valuations Associate, you will further develop your valuation, finance, and accounting skill set through obtaining experience in business valuations for matrimonial and shareholder disputes, transactions, and corporate reorganizations; economic loss and damages quantifications for litigation support; and M&A advisory services, including Quality of Earnings report preparation. The role will involve collaborating with other members of the team to foster a strong sense of teamwork, and camaraderie, while supporting management.

Key responsibilities and duties::

  • Prepare schedules and reports such as forecasts, earnings analyses, valuation models, loss quantification and discounted cash flows analyses in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Complete pricing analysis relating to purchase/sale of a business.
  • Create detailed financial models and forecasts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely client deliverables including letters and valuations reports.
  • Assist with quality of earnings analysis, researching various economic, technical and industry valuation drivers.
  • Complete engagement planning including, identifying primary and other issues, and determining and applying the appropriate valuation approaches.
  • Work with team members in completing the valuation analysis and related financial reports.
  • Communicate status of files to managers and ensure that progress is consistent with expectations.
  • Balance and execute multiple valuation files while liaising with clients, accountants, lawyers and external advisors to acquire requested information.
  • Assist with transactional work, including due diligence and quality of earnings analyses.
  • Enter daily timesheet hours and personal expenses.
  • Meet target billable and non-billable hours metrics.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

What you offer::

  • Post-secondary graduate of an accounting or finance program.
  • CPA or similar designation, preferred.
  • Interested in and/or enrolled in the CBV program, preferred.
  • Minimum 24 total months experience as an Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong client service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, results driven.
  • Willingness to be coached and mentored.
  • Experience using CaseWare and TaxPrep software, preferred.
  • Experience using QuickBooks or Simply Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
