Description
The Junior Graphic Designer is a visual communicator who contributes in shaping GoodMorning's visual identity while developing their skills through hands-on execution, feedback, and mentorship from senior designers. This role involves creating visual content for various platforms, including email marketing, integrated marketing campaigns, social media and website merchandising. The Junior Graphic Designer collaborates closely with Senior Graphic Designers to ensure designs align with the identity of each brand, marketing objectives, and creative strategy. The Junior Graphic Designer combines creativity, technical proficiency, and attention to detail to produce work that elevates brand awareness, strengthens customer engagement, and captivates audiences.

Job Duties

Working closely with the Art Director, creative team, and internal customers to understand project requirements, target audiences, and desired outcomes while specifically:
- Contributing creative ideas and solutions to design challenges.
- Incorporating feedback and revisions from the Art Director and other stakeholders.

Creating original and compelling visuals for various platforms, including email marketing, marketing campaigns, social media, website graphics, presentations, and print materials across GoodMorning’s multi-branded portfolio.

Producing production-ready assets, including illustrations, icons, typography, and layouts, adhering to technical specifications for both print and digital media.

Assisting on set during photo/video shoots in our purpose-built studio and on external shoot locations.

Applying foundational user experience (UX) design principles to ensure that visuals are engaging while enhancing usability and interaction.

Collaborating closely with copywriters to ensure that text and visuals work together cohesively to deliver clear and compelling messages.

Ensuring all designs align with applicable brand book guidelines and best practices, maintaining consistency across all platforms.

Organizing, categorizing, and maintaining a library of design assets and resources for efficient access and reuse.

Adhering to project timelines and budgets, ensuring efficient and timely completion of design tasks.

Proactively seeking opportunities to improve design processes and workflows, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the creative team.

Staying up to date with industry trends, emerging design technologies, and best practices to inform your creative output.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work across digital and print platforms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
- Awareness of user experience (UX) design principles to create visually appealing and user-friendly designs that improve engagement and interaction.
- Proven application of design principles, including typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Working knowledge of the technical requirements of print production, including colour separations, print resolution, and prepress processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Exceptional visual communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling visuals.
- Demonstrated creativity and originality in the development of design concepts.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in design execution, ensuring consistent quality.
- Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback effectively, while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for design and a desire to stay current with industry trends, software, and techniques
