Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary The Pediatric Neurology division at the MCH is currently seeking a Program manager who will lead the ICONIC program, by coordinating and leading its daily internal operations and offering senior and robust strategic management to ensure its full and optimal operations as well as its long-term sustainability.
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator and the Research Scientist Lead, the Program Manager will act as the day-to-day facilitator between the Program Leadership, the Program members and their research teams, and RI-MUHC administration.
General Duties
- Work closely with the Program Leadership and provides strategic advices regarding the development, planning and implementation of projects that will support the goals and priorities of the Program,
- Facilitates the implementation of the Program’s research goals through team meetings, internal committees, research seminars and research days and other special activities,
- Ensure alignment of strategic development across the scope of The Pediatric Neuroscience research and training activities.
- Support the preparation and submission of approval requests
- Coordinate assessments required for patient care and research activities
- Provide administrative support to clinical teams by:
- Ordering tests and procedures.
- Scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
- Coordinating testing with relevant departments.
- Ensure timely tracking and follow-up of testing results.
- Oversees program reporting activities including finances, grants, policies,
- Participate in the preparation of Program documentation included but not limited to: Scientific annual reports, Health Ministry, RI-MUHC website, Program presentations,
- Onboarding and mentoring of research staff and trainees for the Program,
- Plans and accounts for the human, financial, and material resource allocation reserved for the Program,
- Manages Program administrative staff including the Genetic Counselor and oversees services offered.
- Coordinate annual operations plans and budgets.
- Oversee budget review and reporting.
- Prepare fiscal year end budget reconciliation, develop projections.

Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: PhD degree in neuroscience or related disciplines.
Work Experience: More than 3 years
Required Skills
- Superior organizational, planning, priority settings, analyzing and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate in scientific and nonscientific settings.
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: $62,389.60 - $115,824.80. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
