The Position: Pile Burning Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Follows departmental policies, plans and procedures.
- Helps crew operations with carrying out the requested work according to requirements.
- Loads or unloads materials to be used.
- Handles and transports materials.
- Follows work request plans and instructions from supervisors.
- Travel to cut blocks using a variety of vehicles
- Use of torch to light wood waste piles
- Work areas are assigned by the client over a large geographic region. Frequent travel will be expected.
- Helps to maintain work area, storage area, and equipment in a condition that promotes good safety practices and compliance.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Experience and Knowledge Expectations:
- The physical ability to perform highly demanding role
- The ability to carry 50+ pounds on your back
- Ability to walk rapidly over debris on uneven terrain
- Tree planting or other forestry work experience
- The ability to work well individually and as part of a team
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions
- Decision making skills
- Map reading skills
- Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting
- Preparation for work in all weather conditions
- Commitment till the end of August at a minimum.
- A good work ethic, a positive attitude & willingness to contribute
