About the role
A career in Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations unlock greater value from existing assets and ongoing capital expenditures as well as new acquisitions, investments, and complex corporate arrangements. We focus on a series of services, such as acquisition and disposal valuation advice including deal pricing and negotiation support, strategic value consulting for improvement of corporate and capital management decisions, valuation and fairness opinion for public transactions, valuation for corporate tax, estate and succession planning, purchase price allocation and goodwill impairment reviews, litigation support on valuation matters, etc. In short, upon being a member of our team, you will support clients to make profound strategic decisions, better conduct business transactions and decisions, appropriately allocate capital investment, and satisfy regulatory requirements with professional skills and in-depth industry knowledge.
Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As a Valuations Manager (Bilingual FR/EN), you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide independent valuation reports for a variety of purposes including financial reporting, tax, transaction, litigation, strategic planning, etc.

Deliver in-depth understanding of the value of each entity or asset, along with relevant technical and industry knowledge

Support our broader team’s engagements helping management and boards arrive at informed decisions by providing credible valuation conclusions

Establish credibility with existing clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge
-
Build a network around your peer group internally at PwC and externally
-
Manage Valuations teams while coaching and supporting more junior team members in guiding and reviewing their work outputs
-
Participate in various internal initiatives (such as digitization, industry specialization, etc.)
-
Provide support to team members in valuation technical skills, industry knowledge and soft skills
-
Lead audit support work including the review of purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment assessments and private equity portfolio company valuations
Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada

Progress or commitment towards completion of the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation
-
Previous experience at a Manager level in business valuation, supervising diverse teams to create an atmosphere of trust, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback

Proactive, takes ownership of tasks and assignments, accepts responsibility for outcomes
-
Experienced at preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials
-
Extensive expertise in financial modeling

This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation
