Your Key Responsibilities

  • Managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Manage complex tasks on multiple, medium to large scope, highly complex projects.
  • Plan, organize, and directs the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.
  • Provide day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team.
  • Keep the overall project team informed of progress on project expectations, deadlines, and deliverables and understands the limits of the decision-making responsibilities of the role.
  • Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
  • Lead the client and project team to ensure that the project design meets the client's budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
  • Assist in the negotiation and development of project agreements.
  • Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to develop innovative design solutions and deliver high-quality projects.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and project success.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers/Coordinators and motivate project teams.
  • Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
  • Lead project coordination and client/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
  • Manage permit application processes.
  • Evaluate, advise on and assist in resolving disputes and claims.
  • Support business development and proposal preparation.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Progressive experience in the buildings engineering industry from preliminary to detailed design, and construction administration.
  • Experience with projects under various jurisdictions (regional and municipal)
  • Demonstrated ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
  • Excellent negotiator and communicator.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience managing large-scale projects independently.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
