Senior Data Analyst
Job Purpose: The successful candidate in this role will perform a mixture of data analysis, scientific research, algorithm design, automation and software development to advance our data analytics solutions and productivity. He/she will work closely with Operations, Engineering and Research.

Required Education & Experience:
- One of:
- Advanced Degree (PhD or MSc) in a quantitative field: Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Math, Statistics
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and 3 years of data analysis experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Competencies:
- Highly analytical, creative, and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated expertise in data mining, time-series analysis and statistics.
- Experience SQL and other database technologies
- Proficient with data extraction, manipulation and visualization using Python.
- Follow best coding practices emphasizing quality and readability.
- Solid understanding of Probabilistic concepts and Statistical Inference
- Ability to understand advanced concepts in physics and acoustics.
- Personal skills: good communicator, perseverant, detail-oriented, self-starter.
These are considered assets:
- Experience with developing software for scientific / engineering applications.
- Experience with acoustic, seismic, vibration, or other time series data sets.
- Experience with Machine Learning algorithms
- Experience working with cross-functional business and engineering stakeholders
- Business acumen and ability to translate business needs into data requirements
Responsibilities:
- Analyze acoustic data files
- Develop processes and procedures for accurate and efficient signal processing
- Perform exploratory data analysis to extract key insights and propose solutions to stakeholders. Create and track relevant key performance metrics.
- Work with the R&D team to develop and evaluate new processing methodologies
- Apply different feature sets & machine learning algorithms for data analysis automation.
- Work with operations to define acceptance criteria & performance indicators for automation algorithms and software improvements
- Work with the software development team to integrate automation algorithms and software improvements into our data analysis software
- Write scripts or data pipelines to extract, combine, and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Establish conclusive evidence, supported by data, to present to senior management
- Works in compliance with the Mueller Water Products Code of Conduct and all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
