Job Summary
HOOPP’s IT Investment Solutions Group is seeking a collaborative, solutions‑oriented Business Consultant who is motivated by using technology to support strong investment outcomes. The Private Investment team creates solutions across multiple vendor and in-house platforms supporting Private Equity, Infrastructure and Real Estate business functions.
Reporting to the Director, Technology Delivery, the Business Consultant partners closely with investment and technology stakeholders to support end‑to‑end delivery of alternative investment technology solutions. In this role, you will work closely with front‑office investment professionals, translating business needs into practical, technology‑enabled solutions that will have a real, tangible impact on HOOPP’s performance. You will gain exposure to the various aspects of the business will allow you to learn the ins-and-outs of how HOOPP operates.
What you will do:
- Work on hands on system configuration, testing, implementation, and production support across a comprehensive set of private asset classes (Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate) and the corresponding Investment Finance Operations
- Support business partners in the integration of AI Tools into business and technology workflows
- Partner with business and technology teams to investigate production issues, lead root‑cause analysis, and communicate clear, timely resolutions.
- Seek opportunities to improve solutions and optimize workflows and processes – lifecycle events, data workflows, automation of manual processes, improvements of system performance
- Build trusted relationships with IT teams and investment partners, independently leading small‑ to medium‑sized initiatives from discovery through delivery.
- Support the Product Owner and contribute to the technology roadmap / vision for Private Markets applications ecosystem.
- Be part of a high-performing team that embodies the agile mindset, shows high-level of team collaboration, providing many opportunities for learning and growth
- Build trust within the team and provide guidance and knowledge‑sharing to support the growth of junior colleagues.
What you bring:
- 8+ years of industry experience with Private Markets domain with a track record of successful solution delivery
- Strong understanding of Private Markets (Real Estate, Private Equity, Infrastructure) products, investment lifecycle, data model and datapoints
- Breadth and depth of the valuation and accounting practices for private assets
- Experience with data analysis, modeling, relational data model for Private Markets
- Hands on experience with business processes optimization, configuration and integration of financial systems
- Comfortable working across analysis, solution design, testing, and support, adapting focus as initiatives evolve.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading delivery on major features and complex projects. Ability to parse out key details and focus for cost vs. benefit and knowing when we may need to descope to ensure milestones are met.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with front‑office investment professionals, explain complex concepts clearly, and build credibility through thoughtful dialogue
- Strong consulting and problem-solving skills.
- Technical aptitude, SQL knowledge is an asset
- Experience with industry standard applications such as Yardi, Investran, Argus and Taliance would be an asset.
- Experience working in an agile team and knowledge of agile roles
The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.
This role is eligible to participate in discretionary incentive plan(s), subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan text.
