Our team is looking for a Senior Construction Surveyor who is driven to deliver their best work every day and is committed to working collaboratively to achieve shared goals on our projects across Canada. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all construction survey activities, including planning, execution, and quality control as-builts for track, concrete and civil works.
- Supervise daily operations of onsite survey team, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, project tolerances, and construction schedules.
- Ensure compliance with project standards, specifications, and construction QA/QC protocols.
- Execute field survey tasks including staking, layout, as-built capture, and engineering support using GNSS, robotic total stations, UAV, and other survey systems.
- Act as the primary onsite survey contact, communicating field progress, issues, and resolutions to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Mentor junior field staff, promoting technical development and enforcing safety, procedural, and operation standards.
- Complete onsite field data checks and provide timely documentation and reporting as needed.
- Deliver clean, validated datasets to support drafting, modeling, and reporting workflows.
- Communicate project needs to the Principal Survey Manager to ensure project success.
- Actively participate in the advancement of Tri Innovations’ health and safety program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- 10+ years experience in infrastructure surveying, with experience in track and rail infrastructure.
- Proven experience with high accuracy surveying.
- Proficient with Trimble or Leica field equipment.
- Data processing proficient using Autodesk Civil 3D, StarNET, TBC, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple field crews across one or more project.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and onsite teams.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
- Willing to travel and work in varying outdoor conditions.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
