WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Based in Halifax, and working closely with IT and Business team located in Toronto, this is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team supporting the Loan Loss Provisioning System. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, translating and documenting Finance requirements into business and functional specifications for IT Development team. In addition, you will provide hands-on support during various cycles of testing including Functional Testing, Quality Assurance, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead the analysis effort on requirements discovery and elicitation from Finance and Risk stakeholders.
- Plan and Lead requirements discussions and collaborate with key stakeholders and IT team members (incl. Development, Architects, PM, QA, BA’s) to build consensus and drive towards delivery of the right solution.
- Analyze, translate and document Finance requirements into business and functional specifications for IT Development team.
- Identify relevant upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Develop effort estimates for analysis and requirements gathering including BRD and Functional Interface specifications.
- Effectively communicate and build rapport with all team members and stakeholders, including Credit Risk, Finance (Statutory & Regulatory Reporting) and IT teams.
- Provide hands-on support during various cycles of testing including Functional Testing, Quality Assurance, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Actively contribute to process re-engineering and process improvement
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- 3 years’ experience working as Business Analyst in an Agile environment supporting the delivery of Finance or Risk Reporting solutions
- Experience in providing effort estimates for analysis and requirements gathering including BRD and Functional Interface specifications
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and SQ
- Strong analytical skills, ability to manipulate large volumes of data to identify root cause for differences in Financial Reporting
- Self-starter with the ability to break down assignments and follow through with minimal guidance
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to present and communicate based on needs of the audience.
Nice-to-have :
- Ability to work with little supervision, facilitate between IT team and stakeholders
- Experience with web-based Financial Reporting application.
- Experience with Risk reporting and/or credit risk analytics.
- Strong problem resolution skills
