Job description

Under the supervision of the design director, you support the entire design team with regard to the components and concepts listed below as part of the design as well as product revisions:

  • LED

  • Printed circuits;

  • Drivers and controllers (DMX, Dali, 0-10V, TRIAC, ELV…);

  • Remote driver box.

    This will translate through:

  • The daily support of the design teams to advise and respond to various problems
    encountered;

  • Support for the design, review and certification of remote driver boxes for all luminaires
    including mechanical parts;

  • Support for the design, review and certification of simple PCBs;

  • The establishment of a process and the performance of control and power tests;

  • Support for production or purchases during urgent research of components or for the
    prototyping of new PCBs;

  • Coordinate and prepare documentation when updating these components for UL
    records;

  • Provide technical support for the design/purchasing/technical for all questions related to
    these components;

  • List the components necessary for the realization of the products (BOM) during the
    processing of the customer order;

  • Provide technical support to the production department and to the various stakeholders
    involved in the projects;

  • Note changes made during production to drawings in order to provide “as built” drawings
    at the end of a project;

  • Produce manufacturing drawings of mechanical parts, technical data sheets and
    assembly drawings;

  • Diagram electrical connections and circuits.

    To carry out his mandate, the incumbent must:

  • The holder must have at least a DEC in electrical engineering / industrial design or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;

  • Have at least 2 years of relevant experience in CAD / DAO within a manufacturing company;

  • Be bilingual orally and in writing (French and English);

  • Be able to understand, memorize and conceptualize the different technical aspects of a
    product;

  • Have a general knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes;

  • Have strong teamwork skills and be flexible;

  • Be able to work under pressure;

  • Be rigorous, curious, resourceful, autonomous, enthusiastic and diligent;

  • Knowledge of UL and CSA standards are important assets, as well as proficiency in
    Adobe, Illustrator, Autodesk Inventor software.
