Intern, Procurement (IT/OT) I&T Telecom Team

This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.

Job Summary

The Intern, Procurement and Supply Management (P&SM) is responsible for working with I&T Telecom Category Manager to support and drive a variety of projects under this portfolio. The incumbent will work with different internal and external parties (e.g., I&T, Legal Affairs, Finance, Real Estate, and CN suppliers) to ensure that project deadlines and deliverables are met. The intern’s principal project will provide the opportunity for the candidate to gain practical corporate business experience and exposure to many facets of the railway - while being mentored

Major Responsibilities

  • Principal project - CN Radio Towers: Working in conjunction with a senior team member, perform a full review of the 500+ contracts tied to CN’s current radio tower inventory. This review is intended to (1) optimize costs for this asset base and (2) allow CN to renegotiate radio contracts - ensuring alignment with our current operational needs.
  • Prepare all required supporting materials tied to project’s recommendations – including all required financial models, analyses, presentations.
  • Other responsibilities: Handle smaller projects tied to new initiatives/software renewals during the intern’s work term – including data analyses of spend, reports on trends and cost-saving opportunities, and support for RFx processes, as required.

Requirements

  • Autonomous, confident with good sense of business acumen.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of other software such as SmartSheet and Tableau.
  • Fluently bilingual - both written and verbal (English, French).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Interest and naturally curious
  • Effective communication skills

Education

  • Recently graduated or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or equivalent.
