Role Description The Journeyman Automotive Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB. In this position, the technician will perform vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, and repair services, including oil changes, brake work, suspension repairs, and diagnostic troubleshooting. Day-to-day tasks include identifying mechanical issues, using diagnostic tools and service information, completing repair orders accurately, and communicating findings and recommended work to the service team. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following shop procedures, and supporting the delivery of outstanding customer service by ensuring vehicles are serviced correctly and on time. Collaboration with service advisors and other technicians is expected to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.

Qualifications

Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, with the ability to perform thorough inspections and scheduled services. Proficiency in Oil Changes and related fluid services, ensuring accurate and efficient routine maintenance. Hands-on experience with Automotive Repair, including diagnosis and repair of engine, electrical, and driveline concerns. Knowledge and practical expertise in Suspension systems, including troubleshooting and component replacement. Valid Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certification (or equivalent provincial/territorial credential). Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, service bulletins, and electronic diagnostic information. Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious work habits, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate respectfully with team members and customers. Experience with modern diagnostic tools and equipment; familiarity with digital work order systems is an asset. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
