North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan weekly activities for youth, identifying their needs and interests in order to offer effective programming
-
Provide leadership and instruction for youth
-
Supervise youth, engage in dialogue and behavior management
-
Attend staff meetings and work collaboratively with Youth Outreach Workers
-
Perform related work as required
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
-
Knowledge of the issues, needs and concerns of youth and their youth development
-
Ability to establish good rapport with young people
-
Ability to assess and refer to the Youth Outreach Worker when necessary
-
Team player
-
Knowledge of ethics and professional boundaries in youth work
-
Two years of college or university coupled with considerable experience working with youth 10-18 years old preferred
-
Preference will be given to applicants pursuing a Recreation, or Child and Youth Care diploma or degree
-
Emergency First Aid with CPR - C
All employees should be prepared to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement
of the position prior to any appointment. Clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position.
HOURLY RATE: The pay for this casual position ranges between $20.25 - $21.32 per hour, based on education and experience, plus 4% vacation pay.
HOURS OF WORK: Must be available to work after school times on Weekdays, specifically Friday nights, and/or Saturday evenings for approximately 8-15 hours per week.
