About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact
As an Engineer, Geotechnical, you play a critical role in maintaining safe and stable mining conditions across the operation. Your expertise supports essential design, monitoring, and risk-mitigation activities that protect people, equipment, and infrastructure. By providing accurate geotechnical analysis and timely guidance, you help ensure safe extraction, efficient planning, and continuous operational improvement. Your work directly contributes to the long-term integrity and performance of the mine.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Complete geotechnical mapping of new headings and inspect ground support installations.
- Support QA/QC testing, data analysis, and the collection and interpretation of geomechanical data such as face mapping and core logging.
- Monitor underground instruments and assist with stability analysis for underground workings and waste rock areas.
- Contribute to short- and long-term mine planning from a ground control perspective.
- Help prepare technical proposals, reports, and updates to geotechnical design criteria.
- Assist with paste backfill and waste rockfill design and support a range of geotechnical investigations.
- Maintain and refine numerical models for assessing excavation stability.
- Carry out additional geotechnical tasks that support safe and efficient mine development.
- Follow all Brucejack safety policies and regulatory requirements, including Ministry of Mines and WorkSafeBC.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional registration (P.Eng) or eligibility for immediate registration with EGBC.
- Registered EITs are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, hydrology, mine design, and practical mine operations.
- Strong geotechnical skills, including mapping, ground support inspection, and QA/QC support.
- Competence in geotechnical and hydrological tools, data collection, and relevant monitoring systems.

- Travel allowance and transportation arrangements included
- Rotational schedule: 13 days on / 13 days off

The Brucejack Operations team is now recruiting for the position of Engineer, Geotechnical, with a competitive base salary between $83,385 – $111,180, with an additional short-term incentive of 15%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity.
