Are you a dynamic individual with a knack for keeping things organized? We're seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our NorthStar Edmonton team. As a key player in our warehouse, you'll be responsible for processing incoming and outgoing equipment and supplies, accurate paperwork of equipment returns, and loading and unloading of equipment and building supplies. In addition, you’ll work to keep our warehouse and tool crib spotless, organized while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Process paperwork on all incoming and outbound shipments
  • Inspect equipment prior to shipment and upon return for serviceability; notify supervisor and order desk about damaged or missing equipment
  • Monitors the equipment and inventory levels and notify the supervisor of any shortages
  • Proper packaging and addressing of shipments for common carriers; ensure that all dangerous goods requirements are enforced
  • Prep and record all equipment for manufacturer repairs
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly labeled within company standards
  • Safe and accurate loading of equipment for site orders
  • General housekeeping in the warehouse, shop yard and external storage yard; keeping the red and green tagged equipment distinctly separate
  • Safe and courteous operation of NorthStar Equipment Rentals vehicles and equipment at all times
  • Perform additional job related assignments as directed by supervisor
  • Adhere to NorthStar Equipment Rentals’ policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have a clean and valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license
  • A valid first aid certificate and construction equipment experience would be an asset
  • A highly motivated individual with strong communication skills, capable of working independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Willingness to participate with an on-call system, and be able to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
