Job Summary

As Communications Coordinator (Six-Month Contract), you'll support the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps' day-to-day communications and storytelling efforts for internal and external audiences. Working closely with the department's Director and Manager, your work will help ensure the Tims Camps' message is clear, consistent, and engaging across platforms.

This role blends creativity with coordination—perfect for someone who enjoys writing and design as much as they enjoy keeping projects organized. Most importantly, you'll join a team where every effort is aimed at helping youth from underserved communities achieve their full potential.

Work Location

This role will be based on-site at our Home Office location in St. George, Ontario. It is anticipated this role will work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

Employment Type: This is a contract position with an anticipated start date of September 2025 until March 2026.

What would you be doing?

Content Creation & Coordination

  • Draft and edit copy for newsletters, website updates, social media, and event materials
  • Assist in developing posts and visuals for Instagram, LinkedIn, and other channels
  • Help coordinate logistics for photo/video shoots
  • Edit footage including short clips for social media, highlight reels for events, and longer pieces for donor or partner updates
  • Design internal and external communications materials (presentations, fact sheets, briefing notes, etc.)
  • Help ensure photo consent, trademark/logo usage, and copyright compliance policies are followed and up to date

Media & Public Relations Support

  • Monitor media mentions and track coverage
  • Help draft media releases and background materials
  • Coordinate media requests as assigned
  • Maintain and update media contact lists
  • Draft responses to public inquiries
  • Provide on-site support for events

Donor Stewardship Support

  • Assist in creating thank-you messages, recognition pieces, and impact updates for donors
  • Help coordinate the collection of stories, photos, and testimonials
  • Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and event materials recognizing donor contributions

Analytics

  • Track performance of social and tradition media, along with email campaigns
  • Compile reports as needed

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Process invoices, expense claims, and purchase orders for the communications team

  • Maintain communications asset libraries, including photos, videos, and branded templates

  • Manage and organize files to ensure easy access to resources and materials

  • Assist with preparing and sending mailings

  • Assist with scheduling, note-taking, and other administrative tasks as required

Does this sound like you?

  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and tone
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook)
  • Basic knowledge of design and content tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including attention to detail
  • Adaptable and able to balance multiple priorities
  • A collaborative team player with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada as required (less than 5%)
  • Able to provide an acceptable criminal background check or vulnerable sector check.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset
