Job Description

Please note, this role will primarily work out of Eataly Sherway Gardens, but may be required to move between locations due to the nature of the position.

The Education and Events Lead is a food enthusiast who passionately engages guests in Eataly’s mission through events and educational programming. Reports to the Private Sales & Events Manager.

  • Leads onsite execution of public and private events including: specialized cooking/wine/food knowledge classes, group reservations, buyouts, press events, tastings and private receptions

  • Supervises and supports staff members onsite during events to ensure smooth execution

  • Posts classes on Eventbrite, following manager's directions; compiles instructor biographies, Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) and follows up with clients prior to event execution; creates class registration pages online

  • Places collateral, food and beverage orders needed prior to event execution

  • Fosters accountability in departments and interdepartmental collaboration when planning events, such as sending Outlook calendar invites with event information and updating weekly/monthly calendars.

  • Builds and manages client lists and relationships

  • Creates and prints graphic material for events as required

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of experience in restaurant operations, sales management and event execution
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and event execution skills
  • Outstanding professional communication and editorial skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
  • Knowledge of Italian wine and gastronomy
  • Knowledge of Eventbrite and Tripleseat platform is considered an asset

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite and to travel to different locations with a flexible schedule (Tuesday to Saturday, occasionally Sunday) often including evenings, weekends and holidays
