About the role
The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of monthly and annual reporting requirements. Responsible for the accompanying analysis - variance analysis and accounting of transactions and delivery of financial information on a timely and accurate basis. Candidates must possess strong organizational and analytical skills in a position that is very detail oriented. A successful candidate will also be able to communicate clearly and concisely, along with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment are a must-have.
Primary Responsibilities:
As a new, integral member of the Financial Reporting & Accounting team, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compile and prepare monthly journal entries, accruals and adjustments;
- Prepare and process journal entries from various areas and ensure entries created balance with the GL; maintain and journalize prepaid transactions ensuring completeness and accuracy; Assist in the month-end accounting close process.
- Perform a reasonability test on key financial items such as revenues and general expenses
- Prepare and/or review budget information relating to utilities and building expenses;
- Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and resolution of findings/errors with responsible staff to ensure proper process is in place;
- Assist in the preparation and publishing of monthly financial statements and supporting analytical reports.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- University in Accounting/ Finance;
- Minimum of 2-3 years of work-related experience in the finance/accounting department.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables) a must;
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff;
- The ability to work in a team environment and to work well under pressure;
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask, problem solve
The expected base salary range for this existing position is $70,000.00 - $82,000.00. Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
