About the role

THE OPPORTUNITY

BBE is seeking an organized and proactive Expeditor to join our Procurement team. The Expeditor is responsible for tracking, coordinating, and ensuring the timely delivery of purchased goods and services. You will work closely with suppliers, the purchasing team, and internal stakeholders to monitor order progress, resolve any delays, and ensure projects remain on schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery from vendors & 3rd party service providers by running reports on ERP and Excel.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order status, shipping details, and delivery timelines by sending open order reports.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve potential delays by coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Prepare and distribute status reports to the purchasing and operations teams.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
  • Repackage and ship materials to destinations by creating a Bill of Lading and waybills while working closely with the receiving team.
  • Use various portals to ship out customer goods.
  • Act as a liaison with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure smooth flow of communication from order to ship cycle.
  • Manage special projects alongside buyers and coordinators as per project management standards.
  • Support the purchasing team with administrative tasks as required.
  • Additional duties as required.

CORPORATE COMPLIANCE DUTIES

  • Actively participate in QHSETR programs and systems.
  • Contribute to and foster transparent, direct communication, education, and customer service enhancement with the operations team and clients.
  • Ensure that file details and supporting documentation facilitate efficient handovers to Operations and Accounting.
  • Contribute to BBE’s continuous improvement and organizational efficiency goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in expediting, purchasing or supply chain coordination (logistics industry experience an asset).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and ERP/purchasing software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to switch between tasks and prioritize as per the needs of the business
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods shipping is an asset

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly wage range of $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
  • Employer-paid benefits.
  • RRSP matching program.
