Family Law Lawyer – 1-3 Years
This is a great opportunity for a Family Law Lawyer to join a collegial boutique firm working alongside seasoned family law practitioners in a team based, supportive work environment.
Description:
Working alongside a senior partner, the Family Law Associate will have the opportunity to gain significant experience on their feet in Mediations, Examinations for Discovery, Arbitration and Litigation and grow and develop skills working on an array of interesting and diverse family law matters including:
- Divorce Proceedings
- Child Custody (Parenting Right and Obligations, Parenting Arrangements & Plans, Guardianship, Access, Relocation)
- Child Support (Arrears, Special/Extraordinary Expenses
- Spousal Support (Compensatory/Non-Compensatory)
- Division of personal and business assets
The successful candidate will work independently on files with great mentorship and support while assisting senior counsel on more complex matters. You will be involved with the negotiation, drafting and review of diverse agreements including separation, marriage, prenuptial, post nuptial and cohabitation.
Requirements:
The Successful Applicant will Have:
- An LL.B/ JD, and be called to the British Columbia bar
- A minimum of 1 Year of Family law experience advising on a range of related matters
- Knowledge of Family law rules and court proceedings and procedures and processes
- Previos litigation experience in another practice area with a strong interest in Family Law
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability and inclination to engage well with clietns
