Description Charter Scheduler / Relief Dispatcher The Charter Scheduler / Relief Dispatcher is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while coordinating charter services and supporting daily operations. This role responds to the needs of charter customers, ensures the equitable distribution of charter assignments and equipment, and maintains clear, timely communication between driving staff and operations.

On an as needed basis, the individual in this role provides relief dispatch support to ensure the safe and efficient coverage of school routes and charter trips. The position requires exemplary communication skills to effectively address inquiries or concerns from drivers, parents, schools, and members of the public.

Working in a fast-paced environment, the Charter Scheduler / Relief Dispatcher supports day-to-day operational continuity, problem-solves last-minute changes, and helps maintain service reliability and safety standards.

This is a part-time position working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Wage: $28.50 per hour

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Schedule charters and review with the Operations Supervisor
  • Answer phones, return messages, and respond to inquiries
  • Assist charter drivers with questions regarding pick-up/drop-off locations
  • Ensure staff rotation for charter assignments follows Hours of Service
  • Prepare charter waybills and route hazards for drivers in a timely manner
  • Call charter drivers to request or confirm details of the charter they are assigned
  • Attend regular charter meetings
  • On as needed basis, provide relief dispatch
  • Other duties, as assigned

Knowledge And Skills Required

  • Knowledge of Highway Traffic Acts and Regulations
  • Map reading ability with knowledge of the city, specifically road systems and attractions in and around Whitehorse
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professional conduct within a high-volume environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of company policies/procedures and bus basics/operating procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal partners
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Time Management Skills
