As a Quality Assurance Tester, you will work with software developers, business analyst and test lead to understand and clarify requirements, design test scenarios, execute test cases, document test findings, and follow issues until they are resolved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and clarify software requirements with developers, business analysts, and the Test Lead.
  • Estimate testing effort and help plan the overall testing approach.
  • Design, review, and refine test scenarios based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Prioritize test cases by assessing product risk and defining smoke and regression tests.
  • Prepare detailed test cases and identify or create required test data.
  • Execute smoke, system, and regression tests, documenting results clearly.
  • Log descriptive defects, collaborate on resolution, and validate fixes.
  • Communicate test progress, risks, and results to the Test Lead and project team.

Required Qualifications Education: University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program preferred

Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience testing software applications on web-based, desktop, and mobile devices

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle methodologies
  • General understanding on ALM test management tool, JIRA
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance methods such as: unit, integration, regression testing

Language Skills: English, written and spoken. French would be considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range 46,292 - 52,078 CAD

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
