If so, the Strategic Pursuit Centre (SPC) at BDO wants to meet you. The SPC tam members lead the pursuit process across Canada for both public and private sector markets, spanning all BDO industries and services. As a Specialist, Strategic Pursuit Centre , you will provide strategic and executional support for the firm’s most critical pursuits and proposals.

Note: This is a fixed-term role of 12 months to cover a parental leave within the team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Determine the essential functions and identify the core duties that are critical to the job.

  • List the Duties, write down each responsibility clearly and concisely.

  • Arrange the duties in order of importance to highlight key responsibilities.

  • Include details such as the programs used, teams or departments they will collaborate with, and regular activities.

  • Support the entire pursuit lifecycle for strategic proposal responses from proposal kick-off, project management to final submission.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the proposal process.

  • Provide RFx review and analysis, custom response template development, and end-to-end pursuit management, including quality and compliance reviews of the completed response documents.

  • Work to ensure BDO’s responses to solicitations help differentiate our services, are competitive, compliant, and high scoring.

  • Serve as a liaison between the proposal response team and other support functions.

  • Support the orals presentation process.

  • Assist with win/loss debriefs for every pursuit supported.

  • Contribute to team wide initiatives as part of continuous improvement process.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Outline qualifications and requirements that align with the responsibilities of the role.
  • Specify the minimum number of years of experience required for the position, if applicable.
  • Indicate the educational qualifications necessary.
  • List any professional certifications or licenses that that are required.
  • Detail the hard and soft skills needed for the role, such as technical expertise, communication, or leadership abilities etc.
  • Describe the personal attributes that would make someone a good fit for the role, consider the type of work and the stakeholders they would engage with etc.
  • University degree in communications, marketing, business, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in drafting proposal responses and managing pursuits, preferably for federal government and public sector clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines, problem-solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence to lead cross-functional teams and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent business writing, interpersonal, communication and consensus management skills.
  • Process improvement mindset that is continuously striving to evolve our ways of working and improve the internal user experience.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint and Excel.
