As a Response Supervisor, you’ll be ensuring jobs are completed safely, accurately, and on time while mentoring your team and supporting continuous improvement.
Job Description:
- Champion a culture of safety through daily reviews and compliance with NSC standards.
- Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Oversee job planning and execution, ensuring repairs align with scope and quality standards.
- Act as a communication link between shop floor and customer-facing teams.
- Support warranty and repair processes, including documentation and claim management.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying safety and process opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, timecard accuracy, and contamination control protocols.
- Contribute to operational KPIs including safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Oversee shop floor and field operations to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- Engage with technicians to resolve technical and tooling issues promptly.
- Monitor KPIs related to productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct performance conversations and provide feedback to team members.
- Ensure accurate completion of timecards and service reports.
- Participate in safety meetings and lead toolbox talks.
Requirements:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Caterpillar equipment and engines.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of NSC regulations, warranty processes, and contamination control.
- Understanding of JHA principles and safety compliance.
- Familiarity with collective agreements and performance management processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to interpret KPIs related to branch profitability.
