About the role
Reporting to the Sr Manager, Production, this role will provide effective leadership to the Monitoring, Decontamination and Shipping team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide management oversight to a team to ensure the execution of daily production plan - including coaching; performance management; selection and training.
Ensure that quality production standards are followed and maintained while monitoring production, inventory, safety, and maintenance programs.
Ensure that employees adhere to all safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Ensure effective utilization of transport packages.
Motivate and mentor team to drive team performance.
Create environment of integrity, authenticity, trust, collaboration, straight-talk, and respect.
Accountability for business outcomes as related to cost of sales, expenses, and capital budgeting.
Generate opportunities to enhance the standard of quality, safety, and excellence.
Design simplicity, timeliness, quality, and cost optimization into all customer requirements/deliveries.
Collaborate and integrate with other internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline
A minimum of six years prior supervisory experience in a production-manufacturing environment
Skills and Competencies
A knowledge and understanding of nuclear facility and operation is an asset
Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities
LeanSigma certification will be considered an asset.
Demonstrated strong leadership skills and experience in change management.
Understands union culture and experienced working with a unionized environment. Cultural sensitivity is also required.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
This position may require occasional shift work on weekends, includes working in a combination of office and industrial environments.
Nuclear Security Clearance is an asset
