As a Report Integrity & Compliance Specialist with the Records Processing Unit at Calgary Police Service (CPS), you are responsible for obtaining accurate information from CPS police officers to ensure the accurate entry of this information into SENTRY, the police records management database. Primary duties include:
- Receive reports through the telephone system from CPS police officers and external partners such as Calgary Transit.
- Process and analyze data to comply with CPS policies and Statistics Canada reporting requirements.
- Complete various Criminal Code occurrence reports for entry into the police database and through officer entered occurrences.
- Process hardcopy reports into the database system such as property lists and court orders.
- Respond to inquiries from members of CPS regarding confidential case file information, while maintaining Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) requirements.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED).
- At least 1 year of office experience with an emphasis on data entry.
- A typing speed of 50 words per minute (WPM) and excellent spelling and proofreading skills.
- Previous experience with the Sentry database system will be considered an asset.
- You must demonstrate professionalism, effectively manage stress and appropriately deal with sensitive and graphic material.
- Success in this position requires someone who can demonstrate emotional intelligence, creates and sustains a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. Promotes supportive, balanced, and professional accountability with the ability to build and maintain relationships, develops self and others while striving for results.
- Shiftwork (non Standard work week) experience would be an asset.
Working Conditions: Office environment with exposure to graphic, disturbing and sensitive material.
Pre-employment Requirements
- An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
- Applicants will be tested for appropriate skills.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Position Type: 4 Permanent & 2 Temporary (up to 12 months)
Compensation: Pay Grade 6 $34.37 - 45.97 per hour
Hours of work: Non Standard 40 hour work week. This a 24 hour, 7 day per week operation
Days of work: Week 1: 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, 5 days off
Week 2: 2 day shifts, 3 night shifts, 4 days off
Week 3: 3 day shifts, 2 night shifts, 5 days off
Location: 5111 - 47 Street N.E**.**
