We are currently seeking a Billing Team Lead to join our Finance team based in the Firm’s Halifax, NS office.
Type of Position: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Billing & Pricing, the Billing Team Lead will manage and support the daily operations of a billing team.
In this leadership role, the successful candidate will guide and mentor the Billing team, manage workload distribution, and handle scheduling, attendance, and payroll input through ADP. The successful candidate will assist with the organization and allocation of daily tasks to ensure accurate and timely invoice generation in accordance with company policies and client contracts.
In addition, the Billing Team Lead will monitor billing workflows, identify areas for process improvement and automation, and maintain compliance with internal controls and external billing regulations. They will collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Client Intake, Legal Assistance, Client Service Delivery, and Lawyers to ensure billing accuracy and alignment with client Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and fee arrangements. The Billing Team Lead will also be responsible for billing and timekeeper rates.
The Billing Team Lead will be responsible for resolving complex billing issues, preparing and analyzing billing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. They will also act as the main point of contact for escalated billing inquiries and play a key role in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of billing tools.

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, as well as 5+ years of experience with billing, accounts receivable or financial operations, including 2+ years of experience in progressive leadership roles.
