Position Description:
Reporting to the Food and Beverage and Events Manager, the EC Host/Cashier provides daily front line customer service to guests within the CHCA Applied Learning Enterprise Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front line customer relations/foodservice and hospitality at the Enterprise Centre (EC).
- Work with foodservice operations software, e.g. POS system, reservation system, etc.
- Open and close point-of-sale system, reservation system, balance cash floats daily if required.
- Operates POS and processes guest payments and retail sales/gift card payments for EC.
- Greeting and escorting guests to dining/bar/event areas.
- Monitors guest feedback and escalates to technologists/manager to ensure student success.
- Reconciles daily sales reports and cash for processing and deposit.
- Restocks retail display, maintains front desk, host stand and guest entrance of EC.
- Merchandising of foodservice fridges and shelving.
- Operation and replenishment of beverage stations.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, sanitation, foodservice, and beverage regulations.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- 1 year College diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years hospitality, retail or food customer service including cashier and merchandiser in a high-volume environment; experience in training staff on hospitality/retail floor security procedures.
- Intermediate computer skills; knowledge working with POS operating systems, online food service reservation system and/or professional catering & event software is an asset.

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to discuss customer’s needs and preferences effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision; solid time-management skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills at a professional level.

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
