Emterra Tire Recycling Ltd. is a proud division of Emterra Group and is a 100% Canadian, privately controlled company operating out of Brampton, Ontario. We haul and process used passenger, truck, industrial and agricultural tires. We are committed to preventing these end-of-life products from being disposed of in our landfills or littered on our natural landscapes. As a result of processing used tires, we have become a leading supplier of crumb rubber which can be transformed into many fantastic recycled products, such as road asphalt, playgrounds, and synthetic turf.
Job Summary
TheGeneral Labourerwill be assisting with different tasks along production line - general workplace cleanliness and maintenance.This role emphasizes safe work practices, team leadership, and maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate has experience in the tire industry, strong physical capability, and the ability to work independently while fostering effective team collaboration.
Position Description
- Help unload trucks full of tires.
- Stack or move tires around the yard or warehouse.
- Ensuring the accurate count of all tires unloaded.
- Cleaning around machines.
- Keeping work areas organized.
- Provide leadership for your team by demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour.
- Health & Safety compliance in accordance with Company policy, also utilizing OHSA procedures and practices.
- Continuously monitor the performance and activities of the unloading and grading team.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2-3 years previous experience working in the automotive tire industry preferred.
- Must be able to lead a small team of workers and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 60lbs repetitively.
- Must be able to work both day and/or evening shift as required.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the operation.
- Work independently with general and/or detailed instructions.
- Perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
- Punctual, reliable, team player.
