Job Description & Requirements

Purpose of Position

The Labourer works in a support role for the Brandon School Division's various maintenance crews, including the carpentry crew, the grounds crew and/or the painting crew. As this position serves these various crews, applicants must be willing and able to perform carpentry, grounds and paint duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Are established by the Supervisor of Facilities within the parameters of the job profile.

Required Qualifications

  • Requires general maintenance knowledge, including the ability to operate, assemble, repair, and maintain equipment and materials.
  • Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Effective basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Effective basic interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • WHMIS training/certification.
  • First Aid, CPR Certification.
  • Fall Arrest Courses.
  • Experience working in confined spaces.

Permanent CUPE employees presently on staff will be given early consideration, in accordance with COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.
