The Company
Mainstreet Equity Corporation is a distinguished real estate company that is publicly traded on Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Its business focus is on acquisition & upgrading of residential properties and managing its own portfolio of over 18,000 residential apartments in four major cities across Canada.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate new business, set up appointments and conduct unit showings with prospective tenants
  • Answer current and/or prospective tenant inquiries
  • Negotiate, prepare and manage lease agreements of assigned apartments
  • Ensure timely collection and deposits of rental payments and administer damage deposits
  • Ensure that residents issues and service requests are addressed within 24 hours
  • Manage and schedule staff required for daily area maintenance, cleaning, garbage removal, landscaping etc.
  • Follow up tenants' maintenance requests and ensure timely completion
  • Schedule all cleaning and repairing of turnover suites and ensure suites are ready for renting
  • Ensure upkeep and regular maintenance of firefighting equipment and systems
  • Inspection of buildings and vacant suites to report on any deficiencies and maintenance requests
  • Utilize Yardi system to record transactions and run various operational reports
  • Sweep, scrub, mop, wash floors of entrances, laundry rooms
  • Pick up of garbage inside and outside of the buildings
  • Vacuuming of the hallways- carpeting, area rugs, hardwood and vinyl floors
  • Shampoo carpets & rugs
  • Wipe down appliances inside, out and behind
  • Dust furniture, clean all metal fixtures and fittings
  • Cleaning of windows, walls, surfaces
  • Clean toilets, wash basins, taps, mirrors, tubs and showers
  • Clean, mop, disinfect kitchen, polish kitchen fixtures and appliances
  • Clean up storage rooms when required
  • Other related duties as assigned by manager
  • Cleaning and maintenance of surrounding areas
  • General lawn care including planting, hedging, pruning, weeding
  • Snow removal, salting of steps, sidewalks, parking lots and entrances
  • Spring and fall clean up
  • General maintenance of parking lot, storage room, common areas
  • Assist in removing furniture or appliances from the suites when required
  • Cleaning of vacant suites to prepare for new tenants
  • Moping, sweeping, vacuuming for various surfaces, floor, carpeted or tiled common areas, entrances, laundry rooms
  • Make sure all machines and equipment are well maintained
  • Other related duties as assigned by Regional Manager

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience in property management/sales/hospitality management
  • Prior residential property management experience will be an asset
  • Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Must successfully complete a security clearance
  • Flexibility to work 10 am to 7 pm, 5 days a week, may include weekends
  • Must be available to work on the first and last day of every month
  • Must be able to work on own and have good time management skills
