Operations Manager (Warehousing)

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations & Solutions, Warehouse & Distribution, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, ensuring optimal performance across all key performance indicators (KPIs). This role plays a critical part in workforce planning, operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards in health and safety, sustainability, and facility management. The Operations Manager will lead multiple functional areas including receiving, shipping, inventory control, value-added services (VAS), and returns, while driving productivity, accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Principal Tasks/Responsibilities
Drive operational KPIs to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and service excellence across the distribution center. Oversee staffing requirements and workforce planning across all departments (receiving, shipping, inventory, VAS, and returns) Ensure proper resource allocation and productivity measurement to meet operational targets Maintain adherence to environmental KPIs, health and safety regulations, and housekeeping standards Uphold company policies, procedures, and cost-control initiatives while maintaining quality standards Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and with external partners Coaching/ Mentoring and developing direct reports (supervisors) Accountable for billing and following contract protocols Accountable for labour management in alignment with P&L Accountability for Building and MHE PMs Staff training is compliant with OSHA regulations (licences, certifications, etc.)
Process and efficiency improvement (CI mindset)
Requirements: Strong business acumen with knowledge of warehouse operations and P&L management WMS, TMS, O365, Attendance/Dock Management Systems Advanced Excel skills Strong communication skills verbal and written Strong math skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail Time management and leadership skills Ability to lead, train, evaluate and support a team Experience delegating tasks and meeting operational targets Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing
