About the role
Purpose of the Position/Job Summary:
To comply with the Company’s high standards of production excellence while modelling custom Earmold (EM) and/or In-The-Ear (ITE) products. Follows standard work instructions and operating procedures to digitally process scanned ear mold impressions (EMIs) and convert into a final product ready for 3D printing and production.
Responsibilities
Modeling:
Responsible for satisfactorily performing the following aspects of modeling:
- Using 3D modeling software provided by the company.
- Follow instructions to create a digital EM or ITE from the scanned impression file.
- Perform necessary modifications to ensure quality of fit.
- Determine placement of virtual components (i.e. amps, receivers, microphones, antennas, vents, etc.)
- Evaluate remake requests and perform modifications as required.
Common Technician Duties:
- Meet and follow all company and departmental standards, policies and procedures regarding turnaround time, rush orders, quality, and customer service.
- Assist other technicians as required to accommodate for changes in volume, workflow and/or staffing levels.
- Provide guidance and training to other technicians.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and productive working environment.
- Prepare and maintain records and/or reports.
- Adhere to all human resources policies and procedures.
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance as necessary.
- In addition, this position will perform other production duties as required by the Director – Operations.
Related Experience / Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with CAD or artwork design software an asset.
- Proficient in basic computer operation and controls.
- Dependability to work assigned shifts. Overtime occasionally worked to meet the needs of fluctuating work intake.
- Demonstrated ability to learn complex processes and adapt to customer and supervisor feedback.
Problem Solving/Judgement and Decision Making:
Works on production assignments that are semi-repetitive and routine in nature. Procedures are clearly defined and straightforward. Routinely follows established processes and procedures. Occasionally consults with a Sr. Supervisor or a Sr. Technician for assistance with any technical issues that may arise.
