The Role

The ICT Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality ICT support and customer service in Papua New Guinea, as well as across different Countries, ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of infrastructure, including networks, endpoints, and communication systems. The role will also directly support the Pacific Australia Skills' program in Papua New Guinea in building capacity of partners in ICT skills development.

Roles and Responsibilities

ICT

  • Provide a high level of customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Conduct regular preventative and corrective maintenance of all ICT infrastructure including end points, network hardware, phone and all other communication equipment.
  • Assist the ICT Manager to ensure ICT services meet staff requirements and work with the local ICT staff or service providers to improve services and correct issues as they arise.
  • Monitoring of backup cycles for PNG Country Office and other countries as requested.
  • Monitor firewalls, other security applications to ensure undesirable information, and network intrusions are adequately blocked.
  • Identify and mitigate any critical risks to the business to ensure that Data Integrity is not adversely affected.
  • Collaborating with ICT team to co-share the Helpdesk Management System which includes ticket assignment, escalations, compliance to service level agreements and reporting.
  • Performing server patching and maintenance as required by the ICT Manager.

Skills Strengthening

  • Under the direction and guidance from the Skills Strengthening Manager, Papua New Guinea & ICT Manager assist with the mentoring, coaching and support of partner TVET Institution staff to build capability in ICT.
  • Provide advice and practical solutions to support skills Partner TVET Institutes with ICT and networking requirements to meet training delivery and administration requirements.
  • Arrange and participate in teaching and mentoring activities on ICT to program personnel and partners as needed.

Selection Criteria

Essential Experience and Knowledge Preferably diploma level qualification or higher in related field or post-secondary qualification and demonstrated experience in related field. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar ICT role with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a small and dedicated team. Experience working with VMware and Microsoft Active Directory; Veeam backup and replication, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft lntune, Deep Freeze and an understanding of Fortinet and Meraki technologies. Experience providing Level 1 to Level 2 ICT support in an organization. Experience providing ICT support in remote locations. Proven ability to exercise sound judgement in the application of existing policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience providing training and mentoring to facilitate capability development and support change in a culturally sensitive manner. Understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
