Cabin Safety Manager, In‐flight Service

SCOPE:
Reporting to Manager, Cabin Safety, the Cabin Safety Manager is responsible for document control and administration of the Flight Attendant Manual and ePub and the electronic publication platforms (SharePoint, Globe, SmartDoc, Orlando, etc.) in accordance with the standards set forth by Transport Canada. The Cabin Safety Manager is a detail oriented, organized individual that is passionate about safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain safety as our first quality standard
  • Take an active role in maintaining the Flight Attendant Manual and ePub (Part A and Part B) as required
  • Ensure the cabin crew training and Flight Attendant Manual is in compliance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Aviation Occupational Safety & Health (AOSH) and Canadian Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) regulations
  • Administer all IFS electronic publications on all distribution platforms including SmartDoc, Globe, Orlando and SharePoint
  • Support and participate in audit activities, as required
  • Participate in the preparation of corrective action plans
  • Assist in the review of all regulated training programs
  • Actively support, encourage and champion the Corporate SMS culture, Safety policy and Non‐Punitive Reporting Policy
  • Effectively communicate safety updates to cabin crew
  • Assume any responsibilities as delegated by the Manager, Cabin Safety and Training
  • Assist in development of specific strategies for onboard coaching and checks related to safety
  • Update established business processes for this position as required
  • Be an ambassador and champion for Air Canada Rouge
  • Conduct Flight Attendant recruitment, as required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Post-graduate level or equivalent studies in communications, or relevant experience an asset
  • Successfully complete the Flight Attendant Training Program and maintain qualifications
  • Knowledge of CARs, SMS, COSH/AOSH and Canada Labour Code an asset
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and achieve multiple objectives
  • Adaptable and flexible to support a 24/7 operation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Related airline experience an asset
  • Proficiency in English with French an asset
